Shikara is an Indian film of 2020 and it is a Hindi-language film which is basically a romantic period film and by Vidhu Vinod Chopra it is produced and directed. On the Exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir the film is based. On 7 February 2020 the film was released.
To lend authenticity Lead characters Aadil Khan and Sadia of Kashmiri birth were cast. For principal cast Several Kashmiri Hindu was selected. As similar as possible to the real ones 30 years ago to make refugee camps on 19 January 1990, actual refugees were cast. Approximately from out of 400,000 refugees 4,000 people, who are currently inhabitants of Jagti and other refugee camps agreed to take part. They were children, women and older people. For several days and nights Refugee camp scenes were shot.
As we saw the movie on the love story of Hindu Kashmiri the film is based and also slightly on Exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir. As we saw from the book by Rahul Pandita Our Moon Has Blood Clots has inspired many parts of the movie. With lyrics written by Bashir Arif, Irshad Kamil and Raqueeb Alam by Abhay Sopori, Sandesh Shandilya and Rohit Kulkarni the film’s songs are composed. By A. R. Rahman and Qutub-E-Kripa the film score was composed. At the domestic box office on its opening day ₹1.20 crore is earned by the movie.
From critics the film received mixed to negative responses. Rating 3 out of 5 stars is given by The Times of India to the movie, and largely a one-sided story is called to it which to the cinematic appeal of certain movie-goers does cater. 3 out of 5 stars are given by the Jyoti Kanyal from India Today gives the movie and writes that the story “beautifully combines real incidents and a fictional love story”. Debutantes Sadia and Aadil Kha Both are praised by TOI and India Today.
